A Facebook group that I belong to asked for us to share anything things that our kids were doing this week, things that were making us proud. I thought that I would just bring it on over here as well.
Emma has been attending a Bible camp for the last two years. She loves it there and has been waiting until she turns 15 so she can apply to be a leader-in-training. The application consists of telling about leadership experiences, as well as spiritual experiences. She also has to ask for references. This was all new for Emma. It was definitely an ‘out of her comfort zone’ kind of thing. She wasn’t comfortable in filling out the application but she pressed through it and did it anyway. Now we are just waiting to see if she is accepted.
Caleb has been working full time on the farm during seeding. He gets up at 5:30 every week day to do his school work, then at 10:00 he goes out to work for the rest of the day. I wasn’t sure if he would be able to keep up this kind of pace for very long but he is well into his fourth week of doing both school and work and he is handling it quite well.
I have wrote before about Tessa’s difficulties with reading. We have struggled deeply with this problem. Tears and frustration have been rampant for us where reading is concerned. She is now reading Winnie the Pooh. This is a huge accomplishment for her. It is slow-going but it is going and that is what we are focusing on.
